Looks like buttercups ? I was just admiring them all week while walking. Remember holding them under your chin, to see if you saw a reflection of yellow, then you liked butter !

I do love butter. My Mom taught me to do exactly the same when I was little. I really love the way the blossoms sparkle in the sun. Yellow is one of my favorite colors.
I agree. We have so many distractions now in our lives (including this computer screen I am facing), that we fail to see the wonder in things around us.
I think that is why being in the woods or at the shore is so calming to most people. The business of life just seems to slip away and we find comfort in the simplest stuff in nature.

Definitely wildflowers! We did the same thing with buttercups - as if (at least in my family) there was any question about liking butter!
